Thursday 13----My favorite pictures of our grandson Oscar

The birthday boy with his Poppa and Diva.

Oscar and his adoring fans....at his one week birthday!

Oscar Winking!

Oz and his Diva!

Please tell me that's not my brother!

Mummy Collage!

Monster feet!

The Mummy with his Mommy!

Oscar and his uncle Andy discussing sports.

What's that you say Diva?

Jack-o-lantern boy with matching socks.

Oscar looks startled....has he found out that he is not a pumpkin? How would you title this pictures? Suzy calls it "Boo".

Here's Miss Suzy with her boys....Mr. Pan and Oscar.

Here's my boy, looking like a little pumpkin. We (Suzy and me) have had so much fun dressing him up and taking his Halloween pictures. He has such a sweet disposition and lets us play. My sister Bobbie, says her young grandson will say, "No cheese" whenever he does not want to have his picture taken. I'm wondering if that will be Oscar's first sentence?

You'd be complaining too if all your Diva did was hold you, take pictures and kiss you! We went by the hospital this morning for a short visit. Suzy was able to take a shower and change into her own clothes (which always makes you feel better!)

They will be coming home tomorrow afternoon and Poppa, the cats and I are ready to see them. Uncle Andy came by the hospital with us but is now on his way to work.

He had to taste the lasagna I put up for later meals. Such a guy...always into quality control. He gave it two thumbs up!

Suzy was delighted when the lactation specialist told her she should eat high fat cheese cake late at night for the baby's sake. We made sure we bought one.....being responsible grandparents. The scarifices one makes for baby! (ha!)

This is a cheesy picture of my baby boy (now 6'2"). They grow up in a hurry.

Tiny Tim is nursing better and longer so poor momma is feeling better about nursing him. I think things will be even better when they are in the comfort of their own home.

One problem might be Suzy's other baby Pan (the Cat) who has just discovered the changing pad and thinks it was really nice of them to make it for him. Silly cat....right now he is about 3 times the baby's weight.

Would you believe a little bit of her Diva in The Divine Miss M?

What do you think? Any similarities between the two of us?
(Besides the love of outrageous eye wear!)
Same Diva attitude and dazzling smile?

Finally, they are here. First pictures of our beautiful grandchild Emma.

The family just got home tonight and Darling Daughter states that they are all settling into their cozy nest.

It seems that Emma does have a temper and is already make her voice heard. I'm wondering if she will be a little spitfire like her momma.

As you can see she already has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger .

Mom looks as exhausted as Emma after a sleepless night and 90 minutes of pushing. No wonder they call it labor.

Darling Daughter was on the phone with us as we got our first peek at Emma. What a sweetheart.

More pictures are promised tomorrow. Sweet dreams Emma and let your momma and daddy get some sleep too.

No pictures of Baby Bug yet so I'm making my own. Mr. Wonderful came home with this doll yesterday ( Anne Geddes baby bee).

Knowing that darling daughter hates overly sentimental things (like Precious Moments and Anne Geddes) I'm keeping it on top of my monitor at my desk till I get some pictures of my precious baby grand (no, I'm not talking pianos!). The doll reminds me to pray for our sweet baby daily (as if I would forget!)

I've decided that I don't do waiting well. Sigh! My best friend has already called four times wanting pictures and wondering what kind of Diva I am for not already having 8 x10's ready to pass out. In the coincidence arena ( her only grandchild Savannah was born on Jan.18th).

We have a girl. A precious bundle in pink! I'm told she has 10 fingers and 10 toes and weighed in at 8 pounds 1 oz.

She is 20 inches tall and doesn't like to have her feet covered!

She was born this morning at 6:42 a.m. Canadian time.

Her name: Emmalee Anne

We will probably call her Emma. (unless she's in trouble!)

Darling Daughter sounded very tired as did proud papa. Pictures to follow, Film at 11!

I'm telling you, being agrandmother Diva is not for the faint of heart. When your baby is having a baby it is so hard not to be there to welcome this new little person into your heart and into your life.

Both momma and daughter are sleeping and all is finally right in the Daisy Patch.

Today could be the day that I get to enter the grandma Diva Club.

Darling Daughter has been going through some "practice contractions" and according to her doctor today could definitely be our babies birthday.

I'm beside myself! This Diva is staying close to the phone today.

Stay tuned for the BIG UNVEILING

Update 7:30 A.M. : No news, no baby, unable to be reached by phone. My prayer life has increased exponentially and my hair has turned silver overnight (oh come to think about it, it already is silver). Keep praying!

13 ways to be a Fantastic a Granny Diva
  1. Always carry lots of pictures. Don't wait until the baby is born, start with the ultrsound images and go all the way through graduation.
  2. Listen intently to other people talk about their grandchild. This is not as easy as it sounds.
  3. Select a proper grandma name that 1) you like, 2) the child can pronounce and 3) will not be embarrassing when it is shouted loudly in the grocery store.
  4. Ask God to bless your grandchildren and pray for them every day.
  5. When your grandchild is fussy or behaves poorly, always have a good excuse.
  6. My favorite excuse is "The poor little doll is just so tired. And you would be too if you had been hauled around all day. Another good excuse is" "The poor little angel is cutting teeth!" These two are good but you need a good spare or two for really tough times.
  7. You will want to have special nicknames for them as they grow, but continue to call them by their name. We all like to hear the sound of our own names.
  8. When something gets broken at your house, remind yourself and your grandchild that people are more important than things.
  9. Get a bigger purse-a small suitcase will do also-so that you can always pull out a new toy, candy or distraction of some kind at just the right moment.
  10. Think back on your own grandmothers and try now to realize just how much they loved you. At the time you had no idea of their deep love because it is unexplainable. You must experience it for yourself.
  11. Have Grandma Camp one week every summer. Plan cookouts, crafts, sports, and all the things kids love. For the following week shedule a massage, plenty of bed rest, and post a sign that the kitchen is closed until further notice.
  12. Never miss a chance to tell them you love them. The days are short and years pass quickly. What a better way for them to remember you than, "She always told me how much she loved me."
  13. Give a "Grandmother Shower" for your friends who are new to the club. Bring baby things for the the new grandmother to keep at her house.
Get the Thursday Thirteen code here!
The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged!

Will our new first grandchild be a boy or a girl? The answer is only a few weeks away. However, it seems like I'm seeing babies everywhere now. Could it be that I have babies on the brain?

I just started a Baby blog for my future grandchild.

We should know some time this week if we are having a big bad boy or a giggly girl . (Twins would be ok with me too!)

I figure no one knows more about my baby's momma than her momma.

I remember my grandmother filling me in on some embarrassing details about "my sainted mother" that she had conviently forgotten to tell us. When I asked my mom about the stories my grandmother told me I was told, "Your grandmother is old and confused." It wasn't till years later that my aunt (my mom's youngest sister) confirmed every fact.

So my darling little one, your Diva's blog should give you enough stories to get you out of every situation in life. You can always say, "Do you remember the time when you did the very same thing? Well grandma remembers!"

Guess who is going to be a granny DIVA?

If you said me....give yourself 5 points. I actually was told the news on Mother's Day. How exciting is that? Our very first grand baby!!

I told my girls they'd better hurry up and get started before I lost all my grandmother Diva skills. Guess I'd better start practicing baking my famous chocolate chip cookies to sharpen my skill set.

Our Canadian daughter and son-in-law are the proud parents of this little miracle coming late January of 07.

So you can bet this granny Diva is saving her pennies to attend the big event. Mr. Wonderful is excited also and says he's never slept with a granny Diva before.
