I’m back from a wild and wonderful week in Savannah,Georgia. We go every year to meet and greet our supporters and meet with the missions committee at Savannah Christian Church.

I’m missing this little man this week. We had such a good visit with Oz , Suzy and Tim. We will be home long enough to wash our clothes and repack our suitcases and head out for Chicago and ultimately Canada to visit with Emma, Becky and Jerry.

A big thank you to little sis Bev, who we will visit in Chicago. She is making it possible for our visit to Canada. We have not been to Canada since Emma was 6 months old. We are looking forward to reconnecting with Becky’s world and meeting Emma’s friends and finding out her favorite places and people.

Big Thank you to Becky and her friends for transferring my blog and it’s content since I am not computer savvy at all. I enjoy looking over the past 7 years and seeing what I was doing.

I’ll try posting more this week.

Look what Poppa brought home today? A wooden rocking horse just Oscar’s size. Momma named the horse Nellie and you can hear Oz laugh with delight whenever he climbs on. Of course we had to teach him to say, “Whoa Nellie!” He thinks it’s hilarious so of course we all laugh whenever he says it. He adores his Poppa and looks all around the house for him when he leaves for work. Suzy and I don’t exist whenever Poppa is home.

The Lilacs are blooming now and Oscar likes the feel them and smell them. I can’t blame him, I love to smell them too. There is a big bush of them along side the building at the mission. So we are stopping to smell the flowers now that spring is here.

How do you entertain a wild boy at the grocery store when it’s almost bed time. Let him smell the flowers. Oscar is doing the sniff test to some yellow flowers. He crinkles up his nose and is so cute when he smells. (Not that I’m at all biased in any way.)

Off for more adventures in the land of Oz today. Hope your day is full of laughter and amazement that only children can bring.

Oz thinks his Poppa is so funny and loves to climb up in his lap. They are playing with a new puzzle and they seem to be sharing a joke together. We are constantly amazed at how much he has grown and changed in such a short time. He loves to have all the lights on in every room so if your looking for us this week we will be the house that’s all lit up. He is so observant and at this stage thinks that Poppa can fix anything. I hope he always thinks that.

Don’t think that life is all fun and games at Diva and Poppa’s house this week. No sir…..everybody works even the little guy. He seemed to enjoy sweeping the porch with his momma yesterday. You’ll note that his Diva made sure he had the proper tools for the job. He really seemed to enjoy the adventure and threw himself into the job.

This picture looks like he’s pointing out that Mom
missed a spot. He loves to watch the cars , trucks, and tractors go by our house and loves to run in our back yard. He’s fast too…this Diva is really getting in shape just to catch up with him.

This is Oscar’s concentration face. I know cause it’s mine too! I have to laugh when I see this face. Look for pictures all this week cause I’m snap happy when in comes to my babies and grands.

Hope your weekend was as fun as mine.

Oscar and his mommy will be staying with us while daddy is at a conference. This Diva and Poppa are so excited for some Oz time. They can‘t get here soon enough for me. He is talking now and his mommy tells me he says, ” Diva,Poppa, Let’s Go, Lets Go”

2. We had a great visit last weekend with my 83 year old fiercely independent mom. (See story below). She is amazing. She lives alone, does her own yard work and always makes my favorites whenever we visit. We always enjoy our visits.

3. Mr. Wonderful is definitely feeling more energetic despite the very physical demands on him this last month. We really feel that the gluten free diet is helping him gain his energy back. He has lost weight since he has not been eating bread and processed foods. He says he’s ready to run after Oscar now. Oz definitely loves his Poppa. I love to watch them play together.

4. This girl loves anticipation almost as much as the actual event. I have been getting out prayer letters and making lunch dates with friends in Savannah . We go every year to visit our home supporting church and visit friends and small groups that pray and support us. We always get to stay with my friend and fellow blogger “Flip Flop Floozie”. She’s such a gracious hostess and puts up with our ridiculous schedules and makes sure I get to do my favorite things. (I always have a list!) When Floozie and I get together it’s always a gab fest and lots of laughing.

5. We just made final plan for going to Canada to see our Emma Bunny Girl. It’s almost a year since we have seen her and this Diva thinks that’s way to long. We will miss having them here this year but we are excited about interacting in her world. It will be fun to play at her favorite park and meet her friends. She is growing up much too quickly. Isn’t she a cutie? Hope your week was fun and filled with friends and family.

Till next week!

We were thrilled to spend Easter with her last weekend. I hadn’t seen her since her birthday in January (bad daughter). February was unusually cold and snowy and March was frantic with volunteers and activities at the mission every weekend.

We took last Friday off and headed to Richmond to see Mr. Wonderful’s brothers. Brother Jay had a knee replacement about a month ago so we wanted to check on his progress.

We were thrilled to be joined for lunch by Mr. Wonderful’s other brother Jim and wife Marilyn. Both brothers have April birthdays so we got to celebrate with them. I made Betty Crocker Gluten Free Brownies (my newest love!) and gluten free chili with rice. Brother Jim is the brother that got us interested in going gluten free after his improvement in energy after years of chronic fatigue.

My mom loves roses and has a beautiful rose bed in front of the house. She normally has roses all summer and going into the fall. I grew up with roses on our kitchen table and all through the house. Mr. Wonderful found these beauties at the grocery store. After fussing at us for being extravagant we later found out she wants to plant a rose bush of this variety.

We did some research on the internet we think this is a circus rose from Ecuador. Now to track down where we can get one for Mother’s Day.

The gluten free diet has really helped Mr. Wonderful. We have been working 6 days a week long hours and entertaining many groups after hours so we are thrilled that he is feeling better . He did go to the doctor about the gastric reflux. The doctor did not seem concerned since he can swallow without difficulty or pain and told him to continue to take over the counter medication.
He has discovered that apple cider vinegar (unfiltered) with honey helps to neutralize the stomach acid so I think we are making progress in that department.

Our schedule is still packed….we are expecting Suzy, Tim and Oscar tomorrow. Suzy and Oz will spend the week with us while Tim is off to a conference. I’m so excited to see my boy who is talking now and have some serious play time with him . You know chick-fil-a will be in my future!

The following week we will be in Savannah staying with my good friend Flip Flop Floozie. We always have fun together and I’m anxious to see her since her bad fall this past December.

We get back into town for a massive work day at the mission with our local church then leave for Canada in May with a stop over in Chicago to see little sis.

Whew! I’m getting excited just thinking about it.

Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated!

January, and February were especially hard but God is always faithful. We were especially blessed this week with a unexpected windfall from my mom. She told me that God had been nudging her to help her daughters. Thanks mom for your attentive heart and listening ear to the Holy Spirit’s leading. We are indeed blessed by your gift.

Look how long her hair is getting. My toddler is rapidly becoming a full fledged little girl. She loves to sing, do crafts, loves babies, her best friend Jack and loves to show off for an appreciative audience (that would be Poppa and Diva via Skype).

She is composing her own songs that she sings to her baby doll. She loves to jump, run, and loves to be tickled.

We are making plans to come see her in Canada this summer. I thought it would be fun to celebrate her half birthday and have a day for each of the holidays we missed…we might have to invent our own holidays too. What do you think of “Pink Day”?

Miss you my Emma Bug! Your Diva XOXO
