So far the year has started out really well. Today was a day for catching up on home projects that had been waiting for some uninterrupted Mr. Wonderful time. I'm thrilled that our bathroom project went well and that we now have a new sink and commode. ( No more squatty potty for this girl!) Mr. Wonderful installed a comfort height commode.....and according to the box it will flush a whole bucket of golf balls at one time! (No, I didn't try it Melli! ) I guess it's a good thing that Mr. Wonderful isn't a golfer or might have been tempted.
I started a new Bible study on prayer.....it's called Prayers Uttered from the Edge. It talks about how we sometimes use prayer as a last resort instead of a instant help line. I had to laugh at this scenario as it is all too familiar. "Call best friend-get answering machine; talk to husband-hear suggestions that-well, he did give you a good hug; read a self-help book that doesn't help; stay awake all night worrying; spin mental and emotional wheels-get stuck deeper in the problem; eat everything sweet in the kitchen; eat everything salty in the kitchen; go shopping for sweet and salty items."
The study goes on to look at some of the prayers that were prayed in people's extreme moments of dire need. The lessons look at the "shortest", "oddest", "most", or "best" prayers that were uttered from the edge.
The first lesson is "The Most Reluctant Pray-ers in the Bible". It looks like it will be a good study for sure.
"I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go." Abraham Lincoln
