Finally heard from our darling daughter that the baby's first pictures are adorable. The doctor is pleased that everything looks normal and we are having a healthy baby. (Thank you Jesus!)

Our baby is a very modest baby so he or she is still a "surprise package" and will remain a surprise till delivery. All of my babies were surprises so I can live with that.....daydreaming is part of the fun of waiting.

In Canada, they give the mom's one ultrasound to see if everything is progressing well. If they wanted to know the sex of the baby they would have to pay for another ultrasound later. Since money is an issue, and we know that baby is progressing normally, we will wait and wonder.

Mom and Dad are thinking girl! They were assured that "baby was not well endowed" that it was the umbilical cord they were seeing!! One of our baby's pictures looks like the baby is giving us the thumbs up!

When I was preg with DD we were only allowed one sonogram unless there was a problem...we couldn't even pay for another one (military healthcare). DD of course was a modest baby in utero and had her legs crossed in front of everything. So we had to wait until her birthday to find out that it's a girl...And I said "You're Kidding!"
See, I had wanted a girl so bad that I thought for sure that it had to be a boy. I was sure happy that I got what I wanted though.
But a healthy baby is the most important thing.
Congrats Diva!

What if they are concerned about something later in the pregnancy (not saying that they will be, I am just wondering), will they do another US then?

Those ultrasounds are so much fun. Especially later in the pregnancy when you are so anxious to see them and then you can almost see almost every feature of their face and fingers, etc.

Congratulations, Diva Daisy.

The health care up here in Canada will only pay for one U/S, as my mom said earlier -- unless there is a medical problem that calls for any additional ones. I'm already at 20+ weeks, so I could pretty much see every feature of my baby's face and fingers on the ultrasound of this last week.

I had my baby in Germany 18 years ago and I had an U/S every month...it was all covered by the social security- But things might have changed now that the budget is tighter! My doc wouldn't tell me if it was a girl or a boy, it was his own principle. Because during his years of practice he had met women who wanted either one and suffered severe depressions during the pregnancy because it was not the baby they wanted...all was forgotten when the baby was born and everybody was happy , but my doc told me if I wanted to know I had to go to another doctor. I knew it was a boy!!
